Re: Laine Information from Karen Urick of Hart, Michigan. Three brothers
came to the U.S. from Auvelais, Belgium around 1888, Ambroise, Desire and
Joachim aka Joe. All three went to McDonald, Washington County,
Pennsylvania, to work in the coal mines there. The area was heavily
populated with Belgian people who had come to work there. Around 1900,
Ambroise went to Battle Creek, Michigan, Joe to Danville, Illinois and
Desire remained in Pennsylvania.
