Subject: [LABOYTEAUX] New Likely LABOYTEAUX Ancestors Unearthed…
Date: Sun, 19 Feb 2012 18:21:03 -0700

The following references all pertain to records associated with La Rochelle
in France, and are intended to be a rough guide to other researchers as Iâm
requesting help in sorting out all these early LeBoiteux ancestors.

From a baptismal transcription we Laboyteaux researchers believe that
Gabriel Le Boiteulx was born c1652 to Paul le Boiteux and Elizabeth Le
Royer.

From other records it would seem evident that Gabriel had at least 2
siblings who were named Peter and Paul---records of both can be found in the
archives of Amsterdam to whence the fled.
From other records we can deduce that their father Paul was born about
1627.

In the 1670s Paul LeBoiteuxâ name was given on the burial record of his aunt
Elizabeth le Boiteux who had been married to Jean de la Porte.

In 1633 a Paul Le Boiteux (perhaps the father of the above Paul) and a
Jeanne Le Boiteux were witnesses at the baptism of Paul de la Porte, child
of Jean de la Porte and Elizabeth Le Boiteux.

Itâs Likely that this Paul LeBoiteux, born maybe about 1600, was the father
of our Paul (born c1627), and grandfather of Gabriel.

About this same time (c1633) a Paul and Marc LeBoiteux, children of Gilles
LeBoiteux and Marie Yvon, are mentioned together in reference to the estate
of their uncle Paul Yvon, Another record may indicate that Paul Yvon was
not their uncle, but their grandfather.

I havenât yet done much searching for records of Paul Yvon, who was Mayor of
Rochelle and by reason of his estate was known as âde la Leu.â Records
indicate that Paul Yvon was married to the sister of ___________(some real
prominent man whose name I donât have handy). I also saw something where
his brother was a Cardnial(?)

It is through the preceding deduction that I believe Gilles LeBoiteux and
Marie Yvon were the Great-grandparents of our Gabriel Le Boiteulx. Before
I went any further I thought I would seek the help of other Laboyteaux
researches in an effort to sort out these likely ancestors.

The following two phrases are among the âsnippetsâ that I have cut and paste
into my notes which refer to the sources for these LeBoiteuxâ. If you cut
and paste a small portion of the following phrases into a Google search box,
and put parenthesis around it, the source should be returned⦠Or, you may
have to go to the top of the Google page and select âMoreâ and from there do
a Google Book Search.

"Paul et Marc Leboiteux en intentent de leur côté {Mêmes registres. An.

I hope together we can sort this out!
