Lisa,

The Fairmount is now a B&B. It's in Colfax,between Alexandria and
Natchitoses (where they filmed Steel Magnolias). Here's the link with the

I may have to make a trip up there and stay overnight...it looks beautiful!
It's not near Plaquemine, which is good, because Katrina just about wiped
the Parish off the map.

If you look at the following census records, the Hickmans lived in Colfax
for most of their lives, and James Leon was from Plaquemine, in Iberville
Parish. Here's what I could find out on the cenus records and death
records:
