I made a mistake in this transcription (below). I had several interruptions
while I was
typing it and must have looked across the page on the wrong line.

The 12 yr. old son and Clara were both born in France -- not Louisiana.
That may
explain why I can't find them in the 1870 census. Maybe they were in France
at that
time.
