Hello Renee,
I see someone has already responded (didn't see it until I had written the
following):
Muhlenberg County KY Genealogical Library:
http://www.mcplib.org/genealogy.html
They will be able to tell you about access to the courthouse. They may also
be able to provide help you need. There are two published books on the
wills of Muhlenberg County, unfortunately too early for what you are looking
for:
Muhlenberg County KY Abstracts of Wills and Administrations compiled and
published by Marian G. Hammers in 1968 covering WBs I, II and III
then
Muhlenberg County KY Will Book 4 (1877-1922) published in 1993 by Brenda
Collier Doss.
Further help on the Humphreys: Look for Tom Humphrey (Rootsweb's Humphrey
Message Board) (lives in AL but from McLean County KY) who has done a lot
of work on the name. IF you don't find him write me back. My Humphrey was
Rolla Humphrey who married Mary Elizabeth Smith in Muhlenberg County and my
line goes back to John Humphrey who d. 1815 in Hardin Co KY. Further: if
you work back to Hardin County, KY, they have ALL their records on line.
Feel free to write me directly: dorann dot lam at gmail dot com.
Have you discovered the Muhlenberg County site:
http://muhlenberg.genealogenie.net/
Hurried and gotta go! Happy New Year.
Dorann
