Don't know who, or if, Mary Ann Burns married. I have
a birth record (20 March 1856) for her and she appears
on the 1870 census, daughter of Thomas and Anna Grady
Burns. She is the sister of my great grandfather,
John Joseph Burns, who married Laura A. Shea.
John Burns and Laura Shea were both born in Maysville
in 1863, married at St. Patrick's in Maysville in
1893, then moved to Chicago.
I have noticed quite a few Burns families listed on
indexes of 1860 and 1870 KY Census forms. Don't know
if they are related. Wish I knew their parents.
Unfortunately, my gg grandfather, Thomas Burns, who
emigrated from Ireland about 1850, listed only
"Ireland" as his birthplace. Doubtful I can track
down his parents with so little to go on.
