I got the info from John West about the divorce. I would love to see if
there is a court record for it along with a deposition!! Which court would
one write to? William Gardner died in 1872 but I have not found a will or
estate record for him either. Still need death date for Nancy. Both are
buried in South Fork. Any help would be appreciated and rewarded.

There is a deed that I will search for in my files and forward to you on
the list. It mentions Nancy as his former wife and he is selling the
entire portion of land except the part that was promised to her.
Found it, but bad news - I do not know what Deed Bk. it came from and it is
either page 17 or page 177 or 178 - that part is blurred when copied.
It is a Larue Co. KY indenture of 15 Nov 1866 between William Gardner and
James H. Dickson for twenty-five hundred and thirty-six dollars and 41
cents! The amount to be paid in 48 months with interest. It is for 279
acres on the waters of South fork of Nolynn. Land adjoining KW Holderman,
along Dye's line, Puckett's line, Thomas Gardner's line - with this
provision 50 acres of it have been Surveyed off and set a part as Dower for
Nancy Gardner formaly the wife of the party of the first part on which she
now lives and is to have as long as she lives or desires at her death all
the right and title will go to the party of the second part.
