I have been researching the Deans' from Jessamine Co., and Mercer Co., Ky.
They lived in Hampshire Co., Virginia
before moving here and to Indiana. Several of them, women and men both
married into the Davis families. (Breckinbridga
also.) Maybe that could be an earlier link?

The part about survivors DID come thru on the rootsweb JessList, for some
reason. The McDaniel's had only two sons - James R. [Phyllis] and Fred L.
[Brenda]. I did not list the names of the 25 grand and greatgrand
children. Go to the funeral home webpage and you should be able to see the whole
thing.
ALSO - as we know, obits are what living people give info for, only: I
found this family in many, many places in the 1910 to 1930 censuses - not in
Jessamine County. In 1910, they were farming in Hempstead Co AR, and show
a twin sister of their son Louis Jr born 1904 - her name Lilla, did not
show on later censuses; all born in KY. Jennie says she had another child
who did not survive. The 1920 census finds them living in Georgetown, Scott
Co KY, and Louis is a "motorman" for interurban [looks like]; shows Mary R
(Billye) 6 and sister Mattie, 2 years older than Mary, no Lilla who would
have been 16, and son Louis Jun. 16.
Then, in 1930 census this family is living in Lexington, Fayette Co, on
Loudon Street; again, Louis is a "motorman" for a traction company, son Louis
is laborer at construction, dau Mattie is telephone operator, and Mary R
"Billye" age 16 is a student.
Louis/Lewis seems to be a common name among the Price families; was this
Louis a son of James K. Price of Marble Cr (found in 1900 Jess Co census)?
Mary Alice
