This indenture made the Ninth Day of February One thousand eight hundred
and eighteen between Gilbert Christian of the County of Hopkins and State
of Kentucky of the one part and William Corbit of the county aforesaid
of the other part witnesseth that the said Gilbert for and in consideration
of the sum of three hundred dollars to him in hand paid by the said William
Corbit before the signing and delivery of these presents doth bargain and
sell unto the Corbit his heirs executors and assigns a certain tract or
parcel of land containing two hundred acres lying in Union County and State
of Kentucky on Trade Water River being part of a tract containing four
hundred acres granted to Cuthbert Peyton by the commonwealth of Kentucky
beginning at a part on the bank of the river beginning corner of the original
survey winding North twenty eight degrees E two hundred and fourteen poles
to an ash and elm thence North sixty two degrees west one hundred and fifty
poles to a black oak and hickory thence south twenty eight degrees west
two hundred and fourteen poles to a poplar and two dodgwoods thence south
sixty two degrees East one hundred and fifty poles to the beginning together
with all the estate and appurtenances in anywise appurtaining or belonging
to the said William Corbit his heirs executors administrator and asigns
forever to have and to hold and the said Gilbert Christian doth for himself
his heirs executors and administrators and assigns covenant and agree to
and with the said William Corbit to warrant and forever defend the title
to the above described tract of land containing two hundred acres from
the claim of him and his heirs and all other person or persons whatsoever
legally claiming the same in witness whereof the said Gilbert Christian
both here unto set his hand and affixed his seal the day and year above
written.

This indenture was on the18th Day of May 1818 acknowledged before me by
Gilbert Christian the grantor to be his and admitted to record.
