Hi everyone... I really should use this list to keep everyone updated on
what is new in Hopkins County. Are you interested in the weather? It's
been 100+ here the past couple of days. Newspaper this morning said it was
104 with a heat index of 130 yesterday... too blasted hot to be outside. <g>

Chris Crabtree, a Webster County researcher, has scanned some wonderful
photos,
many of which were taken by his grandfather, Claude Leonidas Crabtree
(1879-1965).

These photos are of Webster and Hopkins County people and places; there are
many
familiar surnames among the subjects of the photos, and they were all
apparently taken around the turn of the century.

Carole Palmer and I are working together to place the photos on the Webster
and
Hopkins County KYGenWeb pages. So far we have ten photos online and Chris
promises us there are more to come.

We will both carry a full index although some of the photos will be on the
Webster Co pages and some of them on the Hopkins Co pages. We decided to
do this 'jointly' because Webster was part of Hopkins prior to 1860 and
many of the folks listed, although 'from' one county or the other, could
easily be associated with both counties.

I took photos of 2 more Baptist churches today and several headstones and
will be putting them up this weekend.

Anyone have any tombstone photos or other photos they want to share? I'll
be glad to put them up.
