David, I don't know what to tell you, other than you are talking about another Nancy married to another Dooley in Garrard, since the date you have is off. Vockerys are well know researchers and publishers of record books around the Blue Grass; Kathy lives in Lancaster, Garrard Co, and this is a strange mistake if they made one..
Since you mentioned he died in Madison Co, I looked in the Madison Co Marriages (also bonds compiled by Vockerys), and found two Jacob Dooley's marriages in Madison Co: Jacob Dooley married Polly Searcy 13 Mar 1810, Lewis Eades Bondsman, Samuel Searcy father of bride consent; and Jacob Dooley married Mrs. Frankie Eaton (age 40) 30 Dec 1824, Samuel Stone bondsman. Looks like the last would be most likely. Can't rely on ages reported by women in censuses! Could someone have seen that marriage record in Garrard and mistakenly thought it was your Jacob Dooley? Since there are 3 of them living very close together, there has to be an explanation.
In 1840 Madison Co KY census, I found Jacob Dooley said he was over 80; had a girl between 15-25 in his house, as well as a female 50-60. This does sound like him; did they have a daughter after they married in 1830? See below:
In the 1850 census, I found this family in Henderson Co KY:
Nancy Duley
Age:
60
Estimated Birth Year:
abt 1790
Birth Place:
Virginia
Gender:
Female
Home in 1850 (City,County,State):
District 1, Henderson, Kentucky
Family Number:
383
Household Members:
Name
Age
Joel Grish 30
Mahala Grish 30
Mancy Grish 7
Francis E Grish 5
Sarah C Grish 2
John W Grish 0
Nancy Duley 60
If this was Nancy and her daughter Mahala, could be the widow of Jacob. Because your transcription is not photocopy of the original, I won't say anything about it.

Thanks Mary Alice for the information and taking the time to answer my query. I'm confused about the marriage record you cited as Jacob Dooley's second wife Nancy Potts should have been about 51 years old when they were married in Garrard County in 1830 (i.e., she was born c.1779). In the 1860 census, her age was given as 81. In 1853, her age is given as 74 per the Jacob Dooley Rev. War Pension file as follows
http://southerncampaign.org/pen/w1837.pdf
[On February 12, 1853, in Madison County, Kentucky, Nancy [Potts] Dooly, 74, filed for a widow's pension stating she is the widow of Jacob Dooly having married him on June 7, 1830 in Garrard County, Ky., that her husband died on March 26, 1842 in Madison County, Ky.]
So, we have two different documents that confirm her birth year should be c.1779 in which case she would have been about 51 years old at the time of her marriage to Jacob Dooley in 1830.
