Have we been hunting for you. I have gathered a lot of information on
the Poe family in order to trace the McAnally surname. The information we
have on Nancy's family is so mixed up and definitely full of mistakes. Nancy
died in 1843 in after having up to nine children, we have records on seven.
All were born in Franklin Co. Indiana except a John A. McAnally who was born
in Franklin Co. KY in 1819 three years before William and Nancy were married.
So this John may be a son, nephew or brother to William.
As to the Poe information that I have the most interesting is finding
a connection to Andrew Poe living in Crosby Twp., Hamilton Co. OH. He lived
next door to the Boyle family from which two of the William McAnally sons
married two of the Boyle sisters. I don't think this Andrew is the individual
who is noted as the great Indian fighter (with brother Adam) but he must be
related to Nancy.
