Dear Gayle,
Is there any chance that Bertie LONG is related to the Long families of
Norton county?
Adolph LONG (abt 1890 to abt 1955) of Norton county was married to ?
POOL, a daughter of Samuel POOL. They had at least five children: Nora
A., Francis, Marion, Ernest, and Andrew I. Several of his children (at
least Nora A. LONG-DENEKE (1917-) and Andrew I. LONG (1907-1999))
married and moved to the Beloit area. [Nora and her husband Peter
DENEKE are my aunt and uncle.]
Another aunt of mine was a LONG: Anna Margaret LONG (1909-1981) m. est
1933 Nicholas Frank KOHN (1904-1993). They lived in Jewell county and
Riley county. Her parents were Edward LONG and Margaret M. MILLER
(1880-1971). Edward was also from Norton county, I believe, and his
parents were Gregory LONG and Anna Marihart. The children of Edward and
Margaret LONG included Anna Margaret, Mary Elizabeth [POOLE], John
Henry, Joseph, Catherine [POOLE], and Ernie [POOLE]. [I am not clear
about how the name POOLE came to be associated with these children; the
information came in a mixed-up way from a cousin, a daughter of Anna
LONG and Nicholas KOHN.]
I believe the two sets of Longs were related, but I do not know how.
Sorry that the information is so spotty and only possibly related to
yours.

Hi all,
Hoping someone out there is in Mitchell County and can help me out.
I am trying to find the death date of my ggrandmother Bertie Long Yoke.
Bertie Long married Elmer Yoke on 9-11-1904 in Mitchell County, KS. They
had my grandmother, Rose Belle Yoke on 10-2-1906 in Mitchell Co.
I believe Bertie must have died between 1915 - 1919, (in Mitchell Co.)
because Elmer Yoke remarried Mattie Walker in January of 1920.
If anyone can help me with this, I'd be reallllllly greatful!!!!!!!
Thanks,
Gayle
