Greetings from Texas,
This is our first posting to the list........but, we are not new to Neosho
or
Labette Counties; born in Parsons, raised in St. Paul.
We are requesting a little help.
We are currently working on a project that links many of the
present and past residents of S. E. Kansas to their Colonial ancestors
in Maryland. The purpose has been primarily focused on the original
settlers of
St. Mary's County, Md (the only Colonial Catholic settlement)
and those that became related to Lt. Col. John Jarboe (1619-1673);
my g.....grandfather
Many, that had roots in St. Mary's County eventually pioneered Washington &
Nelson Counties, Ky beginning in 1785. Then some families began a westward
migration to Kansas in the late 1800's early 1900s.
I would like to solicit the list to find a few minutes and look over the
following
surnames:

If any of these names ring a bell, we sure would like to compare some
notes.
Also, a question. Is there such a publication (s) that contains the
census of Labette and or Neosho Counties? Years 1850-1920
Just curious! I have made a many copy of those records from micro
film and it has proven to been time consuming and unfinished
I have concerns that the effort was in vain.
Thanks for your time and we welcome your comments.
