Seeking information regarding events during 1875-1877 Seneca, Nemaha Co. My ancestors Charles Martin and his wife Elizabeth Merry Martin died during that time at a relatively young age [43 and 40 years]. I read about a grasshopper blight in 1874. Did many people die during that period from starvation or was there an epidemic?
