Lillie Malinda MATTOCKS, daughter of Walter A. and Louisa Mattocks, was born in Osborn, Kansas on March 7, 1872, and departed this life on July 22, 1946 at the age of 74 years, 4 months and 15 days. She later moved to Jefferson County where she spent the remainder of her life.
On November 18, 1891 she married Moses Terry TRAPP to which union were born 4 sons, Frank V., of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, Homer F., of Oskaloosa, Merla A., of St. Joseph, Mo., Clayton L., of Garden City, Kansas. She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Edna FISHER of Topeka, Kansas and Mrs. Ethel LANE of Tacoma, Washington, two brothers, Pearl MATTOCKS of Berryville, Arkansas, and Oscar Mattocks of Hoquiam, Washington, and 4 grandchildren, besides numerous relatives and a host of friends.
She was a faithful wife and loving mother. She was a staunch member of the Methodist Church throughout her life, having been a consistent worker and teacher of several Sunday School classes in this church.
She was widely known throughout Jefferson County. She was endowed with a loving nature and cheerful disposition and greatly respected and loved by all who knew her.
The funeral service was held at the Methodist Church Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. Rev. A.L. Hughes, Pastor, officiating. The music was by member of the Methodist Choir. Burial was in Pleasant View.
