Hi, I am rejoining the lists after a few years of not being on them. I find
it difficult to believe that there is not one single person researching my
particular KREBS/KREPS, but apparently none is and if he/she is, he/she
isn't coming forth. I do have some new info, but I am so frustrated right
now that I could scream. I am sure you all can empathize with that.

I am looking fruitlessly for anyone related to my William J.R. KREBS/KREPS,
born Oct 8, 1834 in Alabama and died Aug 27, 1912. He was the son of William
J. R. KREBS, of MD.

He is my 2x ggf, and was married to Hannah Mary FRYER DAWSON. They were
married ca 1866, place unknown, presumabably Chester Co, PA as that was
Hannah's home. He was an insurance agent. He died in Boston, Mass, but it is
unknown as to what he was doing there. Visiting a relative comes to mind,
but who? He and his family are buried in Mt Moriah Cemetery in Philadelphia.

The Ancestry censuses for 1860 and 1870 are useless. There are no Wm
KREBS/KREPS of my interest listed in the indices at all. I have sent out
cold letters to some KREPS in Bellmawr, New Jersey, with no response.

Here is what I have:
Issue:
1. William C KREBS/KREPS, b Sept 1, 1868, N. Y. He married Elizabeth
McGRANAGAN/GRANAGHAN June 26, 1901, buried Aug 5, 1832. Occ: Painter. Their
issue, Wm, Jr, b Nov 9, 1903 in Phila, died June 1973.

2. George Washington KREBS/KREPS, b Apr 10, 1873. He is my ggf, and may have
been guilty of bigamy. His legal wife was my ggm, Helen LEITCH LINDSAY. He
died ca 1927, place unknown. My grandmother washed her hands of him when he
abandoned her, ca 1917.

3. James HANNUM KREBS/KREPS, b June 21, 1876 in Philadelphia. He married
Annie McGRANAGHAN, sister of Elizabeth, June 10, 1903. He was a police
officer in Philadelphia. He was buried Nov 18, 1938 in Mt Moriah.
Their issue:
James William KREPS, b Sept 4, 1904, married to Ruth STEFFLER after 1930,
died Oct 1981 in Bellmawr, N.J.
Catherine Marie KREPS, b May 26, 1906 married (?) Harold GOLDIE after 1930,
died Jan 1982.
Hannah Elizabeth KREPS, b Oct 2, 1912, d May 6 1999. I don't know if she
married, but I don't think so.

I can find little data on the McGRANAGHAN sisters. I think their parents are
Charles McGRANAGHAN and Julia HOLLAND, but I can't find the parents in any
censuses to prove it. They had siblings: Harry, Catherine Marie, Charles and
Frank.

I am hoping that after being away from the list for so long that someone may
now recognize the info above, and I would love to hear from you if you care
to exchange data.
