Subject: [KREBS] Old Krebs family bible
Date: Mon, 4 Sep 2006 18:09:32 -0400
I posted a messagae a few days ago regarding a very old KREBS family bible
that I acquired, which contains a good bit of the family records. I was
hoping to find a descendant that would like the bible. However, I have
received no replies to my previous message. The bible apparently belonged to
Michael Krebs, born 1804 in Montgomery Co., PA. He married Nancy MURRAY in
Allegheny Co., PA in 1826. The bible itself was published in 1834.
However, it records dates beginning with Michael and his wife, in 1804 and
1799. There is tons of family history coming down Michael and Nancy's line.
There is even a lock of hair in the bible.
I am considering selling the bible to an antique book dealer, or collector;
but would like to get it to a descendant if possible. Aside from that, I
thought there might be a KREBS family genealogy association (or something of
that nature), that might have an interest in the bible. Cam anyone tell me
if such an organization exists, so that I may contact them before selling
the bible to just anyone? Or, maybe someone knows of a descendant of this
family.
Thanks,
Rex Bertram
