This list was started for the town of Keskastel which is now in Bas-Rhin, France. Since Keskastel has been under so many different governments in addition to that of Bas-Rhin, France, I added the term Alsace-Bossue to the title of the list. Little did I realize the amount of problems that would cause. To this date there has been very little interest shown by the members of this list in the town of Keskastel. In fact, most of the activity on this list seems to have been persons who did not even know the name of the town in France where their ancestor came from and many others who did know chose to post here anyway. So the purpose of this list has not been achieved. In fact, people subscribe to this list and very quickly change their servers or their e-mail addresses without unsubscribing from the list...resulting in bounces of every e-mail posted to this list back to the list administrator. Therefore, I am hoping that someone among you the subscribers will volunteer to adopt the list. If anyone is interested please let me know.

If someone does not volunteer within the next week or two, I am going to ask Rootsweb to discontinue the list for the reasons described above. In the mean time, if anyone wishes to unsubscribe from the list please do so by sending an e-mail to and in the subject and body of the e-mail type the single word SUBSCRIBE. Do not type any other words except that one word otherwise the rootsweb computer receiving the e-mail will become confused and the unsubscription will merely bounce back to my address.
