I am related to a KERN family in Switzerland county, Indiana and have a
little information concerning another in Clark county, Indiana. They
appear to be two separate families. The head of the Switzerland county,
IN family was JACOB KERN born April 7, 1770, and his wife was Susanah
Spielman.
The head of the Clark county, IN family was EDWARD KERN born May 24,
1872 and his wife was Sarah Elizabeth Clegg.

Parents of JACOB KERN were Philip Jacob and Catharine (Funck) Kern.
JACOB KERN was born in York, PA. His father was born in Bavaria,
Germany.


Parents of Edward Kern were George and Mary (Shaffer) Kern and the
parents of George Kern were William and Mary E. (???).
The father and grandfather of EDWARD KERN were born in Nassau, Germany.
Mary E. was also born in Germany.
