I am not sure. I have relatives that came over on the 1930 census of michigan. they are listed as emma o. kern (gruebiner) and edward kern there were 4 kids and they were carol elsie, edward , Jr, pearl, and george i belive it was they were 9 at oldest check that out i know they could have been in minn. also i am not retired and not into this too much yet. but i will be next year for sure
