Here is information on your Peter Kerns who married Lucinda Garard of
Berkeley County, VA. Would you please share what you have on the family unit
of Peter Kerns? Thanks.
Wilmer L. Kerns
Michael Kerns, son of Jacob and Susan Kerns, was born in either Pennsylvania
or Berkeley County, VA (probably the former). He was born on Dec. 13, 1790
and died on Dec. 5, 1865 at Jones' Spring, Berkeley County. His wife, Nancy
Kees, was born circa 1796 and died Jan. 29, 1870. Burial was in the nearby
Riner Cemetery, but I don't believe that Nancy's grave is not inscribed.
Children of Michael and Nancy (Kees) Kerns were:
a. Henry Kerns was born on Oct. 11, 1815 and died March 12, 1873. He married
and lived in Morgan County, West Virginia.
b. James Kerns was born in 1817 and died on Nov. 21, 1850. Burial was in the
Riner Cemetery with his parents (not a proven son, but probable).
c. Peter Kerns was born on March 23, 1821, and died Feb. 28, 1862. He
married Lucinda Garard.
d. John A. Kern was born April 23, 1823 in Berkeley County, Virginia and
died Dec. 15 1893 at his home two miles north of Winchester. He married Mary
J. Hedges, born Oct. 28, 1828 and died June 22, 1893.
e. Catherine Kerns was born July 11, 1825 and died Feb. 17, 1897. She
married John W. Everhart, son of Nathan and Sarah (Siler) Everhart, on June
4, 1845 in Berkeley County, Virginia. They were buried in the Riner Cemetery
in Berkeley County.
f. Philip Kerns was born on April 14, 1827
g. Elizabeth Kerns was born on March 14, 1833 and died April 11, 1833. She
was buried near her parents in the Riner Cemetery.

Wilmer,
You seem to have a TON of information on these familes and I would love to
know if you would be willing to share this info with somebody who is just
learning that he is a part of this family. My connection is as follows;
Myself
Skip ahead to my first proven Kern
Mary Catherine Kern (My 4x Great-Grandmother)
b. 09 July 1843 in Berkeley County, Virginia
d. 20 August 1880 in Elk County, Kansas
Married to Henry Lewis Wesley Pitzer
b. 15 May 1839 in Berkeley County, Virginia
d. 29 December 1902 in Whittier, Los Angeles County,
California
Mary Catherine was the daughter of Peter Kern (Kearn,
Kearns).
Peter Kearn
b. Abt. 1821 in Virginia
d. Unknown in Unknown
Married to Lucinda Garard
b. Abt. 1819 in Virginia
d. Unknown in Unknown
This is where I officially stop.
I would love any info and documentation if anything is possible because this
family is one that I know almost nothing about. I tried your e-Mail but it
is no longer valid (Mailer Daemon) and while I understand that I'm replying
to a nearly 3 year old post on this message board I figured I would give it
a shot in the dark.
Thank you for your time.
