DEATHS IN KANSAS CITY.

Mrs. Marie KERN, widow of the late Christian KERN of St. Louis,
died yesterday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Henry THILENIUS,
723 West Forty-fifth Street, following a brief illness. She was born in
Spare, Germany, in 1823. In 1859 she immigrated to St. Louis from
Germany and in 1869 came to Kansas City.

Mrs. KERN was a great admirer of flowers, especially old fashioned
varieties, and until a short time before her death, cared for several beds
of beautiful plants.

Besides her daughter, five grandchildren survive. The funeral will be at
2:30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the home of her daughter; burial in
Elmwood Cemetery.
