Hi Debbie:
The 'Clarence' in your family caught my eye and also the Iowa. My uncle (dads brother) was named Clarence and we never knew who he was named after - Clarence isn't that common of a name.
My Anthony Kern was b. 1854 Germany (don't know where!) m. Henrietta Gibbs 2-9-1882 McLean Co., Ill.. In 1890 he tried to kill a man but the shot missed and when a warrant for his arrest was issued, he took off. Ended up in Spencer City, IA, committed suicide and shipped back to McLean, Ill. Can't figure why he went to Iowa - but now am wondering if he had family there. He could very easily have gone into another county right there in Ill., so why Iowa unless he knew someone.
Any of the names familiar - I HOPE SO!!!
Thanks
Marilyn - Fla.
