I have no knowledge of any Kern line in Cook County, Illinois, but then there's always that possibility. My "direct" line of the Kern family didn't come to the US until about 1867 - and after that I have no idea where a few of them went....so it's always questionable. Yes, I do have a lot of "Johannes" (John). Maybe someday we'll connect. Good luck. DS
