I am doing research on my mother's family, their name was Kern. She was from Springfield, Mass. She was born in 1929 and I know she had an older brother named either John or James. I am responding because you mentioned "Springfield". I think that her dad's name was Harry and I know he worked for the railroad and served in WWI. I know that her brother is dead now. Do you have any info that could help me? It is bad when you can't even figure out your grandfather's name! My mother died when I was 5 yrs old and my dad knows nothing about her family.
