I am also looking for info. on my gggrandfather, Christian Kern. He had brothers named John, Daniel and an unknown named brother. Christians' father's name was John or Johann Kern from Wurtenburg or Gottenburg Germany. They came to America around 1837-38. They settled in Putnam County, Ohio and then Johann(the father) and wife Juliana, John and his wife, Christina Ruff and family, Daniel moved out to Nebraska and on into the state of Washington, and other places out there.

Christian and his wife Mary Jane Stoneburnner (Steinbrenner) stayed in Putnam co. Ohio. Any connection??
