Surname:
-------------------------
There could be a connection. Maybe brothers. I am not positive. My Kern
family settled in Frederick County, Virginia I am not positive exactly
when. I have traced correctly as far back as John A. Kern b. 4-23-1823
who married Mary Jane Hedges. I also have the names of his siblings.
The name which appears before these siblings is Michael Kern b. 12-13-1790
who married Nancy Keyes b. 9-24-1795. So you see the gap in this line.
I have found in my lineage several gaps like this one.
The name which appears before Michael Kern is Jacob Kern who landed in
1754 from Holland. I found that to be close to a birthdate in LDS lineage
but said they were from Germany. I am very confused on this matter. What
I am trying to do now is trace back from Henry A. Kern to Jacob to see
what gaps I have and possibly will find our Kerns to be related.
I will copy this info and keep it in my files for future reference. There
may be a connection.
Thank you for your info~~~~Eileen Kern Goodman
