My 3rd great-grandfather is John A. Kern (b. 23 Apr 1823 VA [WV] d. 15
Dec 1893 Frederick Co, VA)
He married Mary Jane Hedges (b. 28 Oct 1823 VA [WV] d. 22 Jun 1893 Frederick
Co, VA) on 15 Nov 1847 in Berkeley Co., WV

I've not been able to find any proof of his or his wife's parentage. Is
this the same John Kern as you have on your list born in 1823? Could you
please let me know what your sources are. I've been trying to figure this
out for quite some time. I had suspected that his parents may have been
Michael Kern & Nancy Keyes but have been unable to get to Berkeley Co.
to check it out.

John A. Kern and Mary Jane Hedges had the following children:
Henry Furlong Kern (b. 9 Jun 1849 Berkeley Co., WV d. 22 Jul 1914 Winchester,
VA) m. Jane Ann Boyd
John William T. Kern (b. 27 May 1858 Jones Spring, Berkeley, WV d. 26 Aug
1923 Berkeley Co., WV) m. Martha C. Barbour
Perry G. L. Kern (b. 12 Mar 1865 Shenandoah Co., VA [registered birth in
Berkeley Co., WV] d. bef. 1870)
