MRS. PHILIP KERNS, SICK 2 YEARS, DIES

Wheatfield Lady Succumbs Saturday Morning; Funeral Services Held This Monday
A.M.

Following an illness of two years, Mrs. Philip Kerns passed away at her
home in Wheatfield early Saturday morning.
Mrs. Kerns was the daughter of James and Sylvania Snyder. She was born
in White County on March 14, 1868. When she was a small child her parents
settled near Wheatfield, where she remained until her death. She became
the wife of Philip Kerns on January 1, 1893. To this union were born seven
chidren.
Picturesque and varied was her life. She was beloved by the older and newer
generations for her kindness and sympathy.
The deceased in addition to her husband is survived by five daughters,
two sons, four brothers and two sisters. The latter are Julia Brooks of
Hobart and Flora McCurtain of Wisconsin.
Funeral services were held at ten o'clock this Monday morning. Burial was
made at Wheatfield cemetary.
