My Illinois KERNS connection is as follows:

Catherine Maria KERNS married #1 Jefferson HIDDEN and had at least one
daughter, Anna B.
HIDDEN. Married #2 John DUNCAN in 187l. Their children were John b.
1874 Mode, Illinois,
George W. b. 1876 Mode, Illinois, Charles E. b. 1879 Mode, Illinois and
Addie Mae (my ggrandmother)
born 1882 Mode, Illinois.

Catherine was born in 1844 in Ohio. In the 1880 Shelby Co., Illinois
census there are two other KERNS
living nearby. John F. KERNS and wife Mary A. and George W. KERNS and
wife Nancy. I believe that
these could be brothers of Catherine.

Believe that Catherines parents were born in Virginia and would like to
have further information.

Thanks,
Gail Grinslade
