I descend from Phillip Jacob Kern who was born about 1734 in Bavaria,
Germany. I don't know exactly when he came to America but he settled in
York, PA. He married Catherine Funk there on November 28, 1762. They had
five sons, John, Jacob, Joseph, George, and Michael. Jacob, my ancestor,
moved with his family to Switzerland Co., IN in the early 1800's.
Phillip Jacob remained in York Co., PA where he died in 1799.
