Subject: [KERN-L] KERN, BAUMBACH, SCHAUMLOFFEL, DREVERMAN
Date: Sat, 27 Mar 1999 09:48:41 EST
I am researching the KERN surname originally from Pforzheim, Germany. My
branch of the KERNs emigrated to Rochester, Monroe Co, NY, USA and I have
recently received a list of burial dates on 39 KERNs who were buried in Mt
Hope Cemetery from 1882 thru the present including the following:
Matthias KERN, my step-GGGgrandfather was buried in 1882. His step-son, my
GGgrandfather and his wife, August & Barbara KERN were buried in 1921 and
1918, respectively. My GGgrandfather apparently changed his name when my
GGGgrandmother Anna Margrethe BAUMBACH SCHAUMLOFFEL KERN married Matthias KERN
in 1852. His real father's name was August SCHAUMLOFFEL and he died 9 Feb
1851. He should be in Mt Hope as well, but have as yet to locate that grave
either.
I am still looking for my Ggrandparents Fred & Rose DREVERMAN KERN's final
resting place, although I still suspect it may be Mt Hope Cemtery as well.
They both died sometime just before or during WWII.
I'd like to know if anyone else is researching this line in the Monroe Co, NY,
USA area. I have had many responses from PA, but no connections to that area
as yet.
