Hello Beth,
Any chance that your KERN's could have at one time been KERNER's or
KOERNER's. My Fredrik C. and Dorthea W. KERNER (aka KOERNER) emmigrated
from Germany sometime before the civil war. They settled in Racine,
Wisconsin. Family tradition states that eight brothers came from Germany to
America. The only known children of Fredrik and Dorthea were George
Clarence KERNER, Rose KERNER and Theodore KERNER. If there were six more
boys, I don't know who they were. Or were they brothers to Fredrik? Check
out the KERNER surname page on my genealogy homepage and see if you
recognize any of my information.
