Subject: [KERN-L] Samuel Kerns/Karns/Carnes from Columbiana County, OH

I am looking for information on a Samuel Kerns whom I found in the 1850
census for Columbiana County, OH. He is listed as being from PA and 53 yrs
old. His wife's name is Elizabeth (nee Spitler, I believe) and the
following children are living with him at the time: Lydia, Jacob, Susanna,
Franklin, Kesiah J, George, Lucinda.

On that same census page, a Milton Kerns is also listed (age 23) just two
houses away with his first wife, Caroline (age 24). I have a strong
feeling that that Milton Kerns is the same as my g-g-grandfather, Milton
Carnes. I further suspect that Samuel last name might be Carnes as well.

I'm told that at Hart Cemetery in Salem Township there is a Samuel Carns
(died 26 Oct 1859) & an Elizabeth Carns (died 15 Sept 1878) buried there.

I would appreciate any information on the above. TIA
