In this instance these three names inter-tangle -- my reason for posting
to both lists. I am apologizing to you who belong to both lists for the
duplications of message.

I believe John SUMMA/SUMMY to be a son of Catherine KERNS SUMMY. John
married Jane WAUGHTELL May 27, 1840 Washington County, Indiana. Jane
had been married prior to this marriage - to an Enoch STARK in 1838 same
county. I do not know if John had been previously married or not but
according to the children found in a census and listed as

James b. ca 1838
Sophia b. ca 1840
George W. b. ca 1841
Andrew J. b. ca. 1845
John F. b. ca. 1846
Nancy Jane b. May 1850
Lewis C. b. ca 1855
Lydia A. b. ca 1859

I don't think Jane was married to STARK long enough to have had 2
children prior to marrying SUMMA. Could John SUMMA have had one or two
children when he and Jane married?

Does anyone know?

The John F. above - could this be John Frederick (Jane's father was
Frederick WAUGHTEL/L. James was the name of Jane's brother (my
g-g-grandfather).

Is the Rev. John KERN/S who married Edna SMITH and amongst their
children, a daughter Caroline married Elisha West SINEX. Do these two
KERN/S lines connect in any fashion?

Does anyone have an answer for me? The Waughtel/Summa line can be
viewed on my homepage under Waughtel data base; Kerns/Smith can be
viewed under Wilcox/Sinex data base at
