Since this list got changed over, I haven't seen any Karns on it, just
the other spellings. I was going to unsubscribe, but haven't taken the
time to figure out how. Here's my line - what's yours???

1. MOSES3 KARNS (JACOB2 KARNS?, 1) was born 1792, and died 1874 Tazewell
Co Va. He married (1) JANE PERSINGER. He married (2)AGNES JANE
THOMPSON August 1, 1812 in Botetourt Co Va, daughter of Joseph Thompson.

Notes
I don't have the specifically, either. The information that two of =
Michael Karns brothers fought in the war was published in the family
biography section of "Heritage of Buchanan CO., Mo." currently published
by Curtis Media in Tx. The individual family histories were contributed
by individuals, but doesn't say who contributed any given history, so I
don't have solid documentation.

variant) who served in Va. and Pa. They are:

-Kearnes, Jeremiah or Jeremiah Kerns Srv- Capt.. Thomas O Jennings CO

There was also "See also Carnes, Michael" listed

There was also Another Karnes listed , serving as a private in the
regular army Artillery, which unit I dont know. Time ran out at the
library, and couldn't jot it into my notes, or look up the Michael
Carnes. Michael had brothers Adam born in 1766 and Moses born in 1785.
These seem a possible match, though in rereading your E-Mail, Adam son
and brother of different Michaels, married Mary McClanahan. Adam the
1812 war pensioner appears to have been married to an Elizabeth. Also,
our Moses married Sarah Craigg, the pensioner seems to be married to
Jane.

Monroe CO WV: Bradshaw Run is near Rt. 33 in Bluestone Lake
area/Summers CO between Sinking Creek & Forest Hill, and Red Sulphur
Springs. Moses had land bordering it, totaling 167 1/2 acres.

Misc.:
James P. Karnes, 74, died Sunday, March 23, 1997, according to Daily
News, Greenbrier CO WV newspaper. Survivors include wife, Irene Noble
Karnes, son, Tommy Karnes & wife, Janet of Gap Mills; a dau, Frances
Lynch of Gap Mills; a brother, Harold R. Karnes & wife, Marie of
Columbus, Oh; 2 grandsons, Scott Hall and J. T. Karnes, all of Gap
Mills; 2 nieces; 2 gr-nieces and a gr-nephew. Services were 2 p.m. March
26 at Carmel Presbyterian Church, Gap Mills. Arrangements by
Broyles-McGuire Funeral Home, Union.
