Leo Herman Papke husband of Edna Anna KERN (Fourteenth Census of the
United States: 1920 - Population) for Papke, Rochester, Monroe Co, NY;
Sheet No. 4-A; Supervisor's District No. 19; Enumeration District No.
255; 22nd Ward, dated 5th, 6th & 7th of January, 1920, Leo H. Papke,
age 25 is enumerated as the head of the household and the owner of 294
Bernard Street, where he lives with his wife Edna A.(KERN), age 25; his
daughter, Evelyn R., age 1 and 11 months; and his mother Bertha R., age
55, who arrived in this country in 1880 and was naturalized in 1900,
according to the 1920 Census. Bertha's birthplace is Germany and her
native tongue is German, as were her mother and father before her, as
enumerated on the 1920 Census report. Leo, Edna and Evelyn were all
born in New York. Leo is the only wage-earner and his occupation a
Mason, working for a Contractor. (Note: this information is also borne
out by family knowledge.).
