Can Anyone Help Jim?

I saw your query/discussion on Monre Co. WVA Rootsweb mailing list. I am
interested in a James G. Karnes (b. 1816) who came from Monroe Co. WVA to
Buchanan Co. Missouri in 1839. He came with his brother in law, Isaac
Miller, Isaac's wife Jane
(Karnes) (d. 1899) and Michael Miller (probably Issac's brother). I wonder
if you know anything about him.

James G. Karnes married Nancy --------. They lived in Washington twp.,
Buchanan Co. Missouri, and had a farm there. James was also Buchanan Co.
court secretary from 1845 until ...

I am just seeking some biographical history of James G. Karnes. The reason
is that he and his wife Nancy raised my aunt Mary Windsor from the time she
was 12 until she married in 1854 at age 24. Mary's family, the Windsors,
were too poor and
dysfunctional to care for her and so Mary was sent to live with the Karnes
family who were more stable and better off.

If you could I would appreciate if you write to me.

Jim Windsor
