My earliest known KERN is Phillip Jacob KERN born 1734 in Bavaria, Germany,
and died May 20, 1799 in York Co., Pennsylvania. It is believed that Jacob
sailed from Rotterdam, Neatherlands in 1749 aboard the ship St. Andrew. He
is considered to be a Palatine. (this is still under investigation.) Jacob
was naturalized in 1763 and served as a private in Col. David Jameison's
Battalion (4th) of the York Co. Militia in the American Revolution.

Jacob married Catherine FUNCK/FUNK November 28, 1762 in York Co.,
Pennsylvania Their marriage record is recorded at the Christ Lutheran
Church in York Co., PA. Jacob and Catherine had five sons births recorded
at the same church, namely: John, Jacob, Joseph, George, and Michael.
