For those who have roots in Kansas, there is a book called PIONEER WOMEN,
VOICES FROM THE KANSAS FRONTIER, by Joanna L. Stratton that has
autobiographical accounts written by hundreds of pioneer women. There is a
guide to the Lila Day Monroe Collection of Pioneer stories on pages 271-302
listing many names. Kern is not listed, but the book might of interesting
to anyone with other relatives in Kansas.
