Hi Trish:
You can write the North Carolina State Archives, 109 East Jones Street,
Raleigh, NC 27601-2808, and request a copy of John KERN's will. You have
the Will Book and page number from my last e-mail. The Archives want
$8.00 to send you a copy so you can include it with your request and save
time. Being in Wisconsin should not be a hindrance to getting most of
what you want in North Carolina. If you have a branch of the LDS
(Mormon) library near you, you can find loads of information from North
Carolina in that system. Also the North Carolina Archives are on the
internet at: http://www.ah.dcr.state.nc.us. Check that out for more
information about what the Archives have available.
If you are descended from Susanna KERN ELLER, we are probably distant
cousins too!
