Sorry, I accidentally sent this before I finished, here is the completed
information I wanted to share with you.

While checking for evidence of Nicholas KERN yesterday, I came across a
connection for your family which may help you in your search for Margaret KERN
HOOVER. First, you probably already know that most of the HOOVER families in
the area were actually from Germany and changed their name from HUBER or some
variation.
I found the following family but have not yet been able to verify sources:
William KERN Sr. b. 1686-1756
+ Saloma
Child: William KERN B: 1723-1785
+ Catherine HOOVER
Child: Jacob KERN b 1760-1814
+ Lavinia SLEASMAN

William Sr & Saloma are almost certainly
William KERN b 1725 in Europe
d. Aug 18, 1800 in Heidelberg Twp, Northampton CO, PA
He is the son of Nicholas KERN & Maria Margaretha
and his wife Maria Saloma Baer
b. 1743 -1756 in Whitehall Twp, Northampton Co
(formerly Bucks Co) PA
d. 1804 Upper Milford Twp, Northampton, PA
she is the daughter of Christopehl BAER & Catharine MINGERT

Please see my recent KERN rootsweb posting for more on ancestors of Nicholas
KERN.

My feeling is that since brothers and sisters often married into the same
family, this William KERN is likely a brother or first cousin of your Margaret
KERN.
You will notice that 2 BAER sisters married 2 KERN brothers, Lorentz &
William.
