Erin:

My ancestor is Conrad KERN (b. Ca 1736 Germany) who came to America in
1754 through the port of Philadelphia. He is found in Rowan County,
North Carolina, in 1762. Conrad had a brother named Johann (John) KERN
(KARN) who first appears in Rowan Co., N.C., in 1774. John KERN died in
1823 and his will shows a wife Catherine and children Peter, Daniel,
Esther, Mary, and Susanna. A son John, Jr., died in 1794. The daughter,
Susanna KERN, married John ELLER on 5 November 1792 in Rowan Co., N.C.
Gabriel KERNS was the bondsman. Gabriel was the son of Conrad KERN.
Conrad KERN's wife was Mary Magdalene (BILLINGS?), and their children
were Adam, Gabriel, Simeon, Elizabeth, Conrad (Jr.), Henry C., and some
daughters whose names are not known.

Susanna Kern Eller's tombstone is in the New Hope Baptist Cemetery in
Parlears, N.C., and it shows she was born in 1765-66.

Your Simeon Kern, married to Christina Hoffner in 1749 in Frederick Co.
MD, could still be related to Conrad and John Kern, since Conrad Kern
named a son Simeon.

I do not have proof of all of this information, but I have a couple of
resources you could check, if you want to get back to me.

We are possibly distant cousins!

Marcia Davis
