Joseph C. Kern born April 21, 1830 in probably Morgantown, West Virginia,
and died April 24, 1884. He was married to Melvina Dawson.

Joseph C. was the son of Joseph R. Kern who was born February 19, 1797 in
York Co., Pennsylvania. He died October 20, 1855. Joseph R. Kern was
married to Elizabeth Smith in probably Westmoreland Co., Pennsylvania.
Elizabeth was born June 28, 1800 in Westmoreland co., Pennnsylvania.
Joseph R. died October 20, 1855 & Elizabeth died June 18, 1889 in Houston
Twp., Adams Co., Illinois.

Joseph R. was the son of John Kern and Katherine Kaylor. They founded the
Methodist Church in Greensburg, Westmoreland Co., Pennsylvania.

John Kern was the son of Phillip Jacob Kern and wife Catherine Funk of York
Co., Pennsylvania.
