Subject: John Jacob KERN, German Valley, NJ

Hello, again,
I have recently corresponded with another descendent of
John Jacob Kern who first emigrated to the German Valley of NJ.
Incidentally, this correspondence was brought about by the list-
owner's efforts ie. word of the day, "John"
Anyhow, between us we have at least variations of the origins
of John Jacob. All suggest he sailed on the "Jamaica Galley"
in 1739.
1. HE came with 2 brothers, one of whom was lost at sea. No
mention of son Christopher who was supposed to have been born
in 1728. Origin - Schwerin, Germany, via Holland
2. He came alone and was age 20 on board ship, again from
Schwerin
3. HE came with at least one son, but if Christopher was born
in 1728, could not have been 20 on board the "Jamaica Galley".
This time, his origin was said to be from Schweigern, Baden,
Germany. Born 1705.
Does anyone have a plausible explanation?
Thanks
Adrienne
