Hi. I'm new to the list.

Looking for the ancestors of Nicholas KERN and Christine FUCHS KERN.
Nicholas was b. 15 Nov 1830 in Baden, Germany. Christine was b. 27 Jan 1830
also in Baden.

They both came to US on the ship, JOHN G. COSTER which departed Le Havre and
arrived in New Orleans 26 Dec 1856. They were not married when they came
here but were listed next to each other on the ship's log. Nicholas was
listed alone and Christine had listed, Jacques age 21 and Jacques age 5 as
travelling with her. I haven't been able to find a record of their marriage,
but they settled in the Sangamon Co IL where they both died, Nicholas 29 Mar
1911 and Christine 19 Apr 1920.

Their children were:
Christine b. 1860
Jacob Frederick b. 1862
William Nicholas b. 1865
Louis b. 1868

Jacob was my great grandfather.

I have lots of info on the children but if anyone has info on Nicholas and
Christine's parents and exactly where they came from in Baden I would be
happy to share what I have.
