Hello from sunny Califonia:

This is my first message to the KERN listserv and these are my KERN
ties as I know them:
Our Kern roots date back to Abraham Kern whose family migrated from
the German Pfalz and settled in York, PA. (this is all I know of
Abraham), other than he had at least four children...and that he took
an oath of allegiance to England in 1727 when PA was one of the
British colonies.
My great-great grandfather was Jacob Kern...born in Kernstown,
Frederick County, VA in 1779. My grandfather was Joseph Kern and was
born in Missouri, one of 9 children, in 1861. He was a farmer.He died
in 1935.
I was born in Missouri but family moved in New Mexico in 1926 where
my father was a mining engineer.
