Okay, but I'll limit it to pre-1861 because from that date to 1901 the
censuses can be searched online. And I'll limit it to Yorkshire. But
anyone with KASSELL interests in God's own county whatever the date is very
welcome to contact me in case I can help.

The earliest Yorkshire ref I have so far is the marriage of James KASSELL
and Sarah CAWOOD in Snaith in 1825. Did James immigrate to UK, perhaps from
Germany? I am seeking info of his parents and place of origin. (I have
searched for his birth in England under various spellings of the surname but
without success.)

Children of James and Sarah (from details mainly from 1851 census.)
Ann, born ca 1826, Rawcliffe.
Others were born Goole:
Henry b ca 1830, marr Elizabeth ??
William b 30 Mar 1834, marr Sarah Ann ACASTER.
Hannah Mary b ca 1836 died 1863.
Thomas James b ca 1838, marr Mary Elizabeth ??
Emma b ca 1840, died 1861.
John b ca 1842, marr Sarah ??
Mark Ambrose b 24 Oct 1843, marr Sarah Frances LUMB, and died 25 Feb 1911 at
Castleford.

My wife descends from Mark Ambrose, builder and stonemason.
