Hello, I am new to the list and would like to know if anyone has nay
information on the following people. My name is Harry Leroy Gharis(b.
9/10/1951, Dallas, Tx). My mother's name was Dorothy Lee Joiner (b.
6/28/1916 Arlington, Tx - d. 5/3/1959 Dallas, Tx). Her siblings are
Webb Monroe (b. 6/3/1910, Hamilton, Tx d. 199?, Ft. Worth, Tx.)
Elizabeth May (b. 11/28/1911 El Paso, Tx)
Harry Francis (b. 1/25/1915 Arlington d. 199? Garland, Tx)
Mary Eager (b. 8/1/1918 Arlington, Tx. d. 1997, Dallas)
Nancy Stuart (b. 5/24/1921, Arlington, Tx.)
Her father was Webb Broadus Joiner (b. 8/13/1885, Tung Chow, China - d.
196?) who married Leah Elizabeth Stuart.
His father James Monroe Joiner was a Southern Baptist missionary from
1884-1887 after which he was a pastor Chattanooga, TN., Fort Payne, AL.,
Salem, Mt. Zion, Trenton, and Elkton, KY, and Hamilton, Cisco, Baird, TX.
James Monroe married Mary Manassa Eager on 10/16/1884 in Brownsville,
TN.
James and Mary had two other children, James Patrick (b. 6/5/1887, Tung
Chow, China) and Mary (b. 2/6/1891).
James Monroe's father was Gibson Washington Joiner who married Charlott
Elizabeth Eubanks.
I gathered this information from a book entitled "The History of the
Eager Family" published in 1952 authored by the wife of Ide Peebles
Trotter. I do not have her name handy at the moment.
I would appreciate any information you may have. I am fairly new at
this genealogy stuff. Any ideas or recommendations will be gratefully
accepted.
Regards,
Leroy Gharis
